Reproduction rules
In Portugal, euro coins are issued by the State through the Ministry of Finance (Directorate-General for Treasury and Finance), minted by the Portuguese Mint and Official Printing Office (Imprensa Nacional-Casa da Moeda) and put into circulation by the Banco de Portugal.
Decree-Law No 246/2007 of 26 June 2007 lays down the rules applicable to the reproduction of euro coins and the instrumental activities related to said reproduction, in accordance with the provisions of Council Regulation (EC) No 2182/2004.
In the event of doubt as to compliance with the applicable rules, requests for reproduction must be sent to the Directorate-General for Treasury and Finance and the Portuguese Mint and Official Printing Office.
