In this article, we estimate the markup premium of exporting firms for Portugal over the period 2010-2019. We include evidence not only for the Manufacturing sector but also for the Non-Manufacturing sector that is generally not available. We find that exporting firms have a positive, sizeable, and statistically significant markup premium compared to their non-exporting counterparts, both in the Manufacturing and Non-Manufacturing sectors. We also show that upon entry into export markets, markups also depict a positive and statistically significant increase in both of these sectors.
