Regulation (EU) No 260/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 14 March 2012 – Establishes technical and business requirements for credit transfers and direct debits in euro and amends Regulation (EC) No 924/2009.
Regulation (EC) No 924/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 September 2009 – Establishes rules on cross-border payments in the Community and repeals as from 1 November 2009 Regulation (EC) N.o 2560/2001.
Regulation (EC) No 1781/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 15 November 2006 – Lays down rules on information on the payer accompanying transfers of funds for the prevention, investigation and detection of money laundering or terrorist financing.
Decree-Law No 91/2018 of 12 November 2018 (in Portuguese only) – approves the Legal Framework for Payment Services and Electronic Money. This Decree-Law transposes into the Portuguese legal system Directive (EU) 2015/2366 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 25 November 2015 on payment services in the internal market (revised Payment Services Directive – DSP2).

Notice of Banco de Portugal No 5/2013 of 18 December 2013, amended and republished by Notice of Banco de Portugal n.º 1/2014 of 28 February 2014 (in Portuguese only) – regulates the conditions, mechanisms and procedures required for effective compliance with the anti-money laundering and terrorist financing obligations established in Chapter II of Law N.o 25/2008 of 5 June 2008, within the scope of the provision of financial services subject to supervision by Banco de Portugal.
Notice of Banco de Portugal No 8/2009 of 12 October 2009 (in Portuguese only) – Lays down the minimum information requirements that must be complied with in the disclosure of the general conditions of priced financial products and services made available to the public by credit institutions and financial companies having their head office or a branch in Portuguese territory. Repeals Notice of Banco de Portugal N.o 1/95 of 17 February 1995.
