Regulation (EU) No 260/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 14 March 2012 – Establishes technical and business requirements for credit transfers and direct debits in euro and amends Regulation (EC) No 924/2009.

 

Regulation (EC) No 924/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 September 2009 – Establishes rules on cross-border payments in the Community and repeals as from 1 November 2009 Regulation (EC) N.o 2560/2001.

 

Regulation (EC) No 1781/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 15 November 2006 – Lays down rules on information on the payer accompanying transfers of funds for the prevention, investigation and detection of money laundering or terrorist financing.

 

Decree-Law No 141/2013 of 18 October 2013 (in Portuguese only) – Ensures enforcement in Portuguese law of the obligations arising under Regulation (EU) No 260/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 14 March 2012 establishing technical and business requirements for credit transfers and direct debits in euro.

 

Decree-Law No 317/2009 of 30 October 2009 (in Portuguese only) – Approves the legal framework governing the taking up of the business of payment institutions and the provision of payment services. Transposes into Portuguese law Directive 2007/64/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 13 November 2007 on payment services in the internal market. Amended by Decree-Law N.o 242/2012 of 7 November 2012, which regulates the taking up of the business of electronic money institutions, the provision of electronic money issuance services and their prudential supervision, transposing into Portuguese law Directive 2009/110/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 September 2009.

 

Decree-Law No 125/2008 of 21 July 2008 (in Portuguese only) – Lays down the national measures required for the implementation of Regulation (EC) 1781/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 15 November 2006 on information on the payer accompanying transfers of funds.

 

Notice of Banco de Portugal No 5/2013 of 18 December 2013, amended and republished by Notice of Banco de Portugal n.º 1/2014 of 28 February 2014 (in Portuguese only) – regulates the conditions, mechanisms and procedures required for effective compliance with the anti-money laundering and terrorist financing obligations established in Chapter II of Law N.o 25/2008 of 5 June 2008, within the scope of the provision of financial services subject to supervision by Banco de Portugal.

 

Notice of Banco de Portugal No 8/2009 of 12 October 2009 (in Portuguese only) – Lays down the minimum information requirements that must be complied with in the disclosure of the general conditions of priced financial products and services made available to the public by credit institutions and financial companies having their head office or a branch in Portuguese territory. Repeals Notice of Banco de Portugal N.o 1/95 of 17 February 1995.
