21st Lisbon meeting with the delegations of the central banks of Portuguese-speaking countries to the annual IMF/WB meetings
The 21st Lisbon Meeting will be held on 19 September 2011 (see attached programme ).
This annual meeting, organised by Banco de Portugal, is a forum for the Governors of the Central Banks of Portuguese-speaking countries to discuss the main topics on the agenda of the Annual Meeting of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, as well as other issues of common interest, such as the cooperation activity.
The public session, which will be held at Centro Cultural de Belém, will be opened by the Governor of Banco de Portugal, Mr. Carlos da Silva Costa.
After a multimedia presentation on the most significant recent economic developments in Portuguese-speaking countries, the Governor of Banco de Portugal will deliver an address on "Economic growth and financial stability".
The President of Banco Central do Brasil, Mr. Alexandre Tombini, will give a keynote address on “The challenges of the international environment and the role of G20”. Afterwards, the Central Bank Governors will take part in a round table to discuss this issue.
The Minister of State and Finance of Portugal will close the session.
The publication of Banco de Portugal entitled "Evolução das Economias dos PALOP e de Timor-Leste – 2010/2011" (Economic developments in the Portuguese-speaking African countries and Timor-Leste) will be distributed at the beginning of the session.

The afternoon session is restricted to the delegations of the Central Banks of Portuguese-speaking countries and international institutions.
