In October 2019 net issues (gross issues minus redemptions) of securities by residents totalled about €2.1 billion. This figure results mainly from positive net issues of general government debt securities (Charts 1 and 2).

The outstanding amount of securities issued by residents totalled €463.3 billion, i.e. €2.7 billion more than in September (Chart 3). This increase was due to the net issues mentioned above and to the valuation of listed shares issued by non financial corporations, partly offset by the devaluation of general government debt securities (Chart 4).
