Statistical Press Release – General government financing - November 2018
Today, Banco de Portugal publishes statistics, in Table A.15 of the Statistical Bulletin and in BPstat, on general government financing for November 2018.
Between January and November 2018, general government financing stood at €1.9 billion, lower than the €5.2 billion in the corresponding period in 2017 (Chart 1).
Between January and November, financing obtained by the general government was chiefly from residents (except for banks) and abroad, to the amount of €1.5 billion and €1.1 billion respectively (Chart 2). Conversely, financing obtained by the general government from resident banks amounted to €-0.7 billion.
Financing through securities amounted to €8.3 billion, which more than offset the €6.4 billion reduction in financing through loans net of deposits.
