Statistical Press Release – General government financing – May 2020
In May, general government financing stood at €4.2 billion, compared to €1.3 billion million in the corresponding period in 2019 (Chart 1).
Financing obtained by the general government from abroad stood at €7.1 billion. Conversely, financing obtained by the general government from resident banks and from others residents amounted to €-2.3 billion and €-0.5 billion, respectively (Chart 2).
Financing through securities amounted to €15.5 billion, offset by the €-11.3 billion reduction in loans net of deposits, resulting from the accumulation of deposits by the General government.
