Statistical Press Release – General government financing – June 2020
In the first half of 2020, general government financing stood at €8.0 billion, compared to €1.4 billion million in the corresponding period in 2019 (Chart 1).
Since the beginning of the year, financing obtained by the general government from resident banks and from abroad amounted to €8.6 billion and €0.5 billion, respectively. Conversely, financing obtained by the general government from other residents stood at €-1.1 billion (Chart 2).
Financing through securities amounted to €11.2 billion, offset by the €-3.2 billion reduction in loans net of deposits.
