Statistical Press Release – General government financing - January 2020
In January, general government financing stood at €-0.5 billion, higher than the €-0.8 billion in the corresponding period in 2019 (Chart 1).
Financing obtained by the general government from abroad stood at €3.9 billion. Conversely, financing obtained by the general government from resident banks and from others residents amounted to €-2.9 billion and €-1.5 billion, respectively (Chart 2).
Financing through securities amounted to €2.9 billion, offset by the €-3.4 billion reduction in loans net of deposits.
