Banco de Portugal releases indicators for 2013 on non-financial corporations from the Central Balance-Sheet Database

Today Banco de Portugal makes available the Sector Tables and the Enterprise and Sector Tables for 2013. The tables give indicators on non-financial corporations from Banco de Portugal's Central Balance-Sheet Database, which cover over 90% of the non-financial corporations in Portugal.

The Sector Tables give indicators on the sectors of economic activity and size classes of the Portuguese non-financial corporations and include a set of European ratios for each sector. These tables may be consulted on the Banco de Portugal website and at BPstat statistics online, and henceforth annual data from 2010 will be available.

Banco de Portugal provides to the non-financial corporations the Enterprise and Sector Tables, with indicators on each corporation and on its sector and size class, for free in the Corporate Area of the institutional website (only available in Portuguese).

New Sector Tables series, with data from 1995

Banco de Portugal also makes available today a new data-set on non-financial corporations from the Central Balance-Sheet Database: the Sector Table Long Time Series, with annual data from 1995. This series makes available a selection of indicators which offer greater comparability of the concepts used.

At the same time, Banco de Portugal has published Central Balance Sheet Studies No 19 - Sector Tables and Enterprise and Sector Tables: Methodological Notes. Long Time Series 1995-2013 (only available in Portuguese). This study describes the contents of the Sector Tables, the Enterprise and Sector Tables and Sector Tables Long Time Series, and clarifies the methodological aspects underlying the compilation of these statistical series.
