Fulfilment of the duty of information regarding the data subject

1. Controller, basis and purpose

Collected personal data are processed by Banco de Portugal, a public-law legal person with taxpayer number 500 792 771, with head office at Rua do Comércio, no. 148, 1100-150 Lisbon, Portugal, (henceforth Bank) in compliance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 (henceforth Regulation), and other applicable data protection legislation, based on the legitimate interest of the data subject and for the following purposes:

Access and management of information requests to the historical archive of Banco de Portugal.

2. Obligatoriness

The provision of data for these purposes is obligatory. Failure to provide them will preclude consultation of the documents in the reading room of the historical archive of Banco de Portugal.

3. Storage

The personal data are stored for the given purpose indefinitely, so that subsequent consultations may be put into context, except where the users express their wish to eliminate them.

4. Rights

We further inform you that under the terms provided for in the Regulation and other applicable data protection legislation, you have the right:

  • To ask the Bank for access to the personal data relating to you, to its rectification and to its erasure;
  • To restrict and object to the processing.

There may be justified and proportional limitations to the exercising of the rights to restrict, object and erase, weighed against the Bank's pursuit of the public interest in a given case.
