Freedom to provide services

Credit institutions and payment institutions having their head office in other European Union countries may also operate under the freedom to provide services, even if those institutions are not established in Portugal, after Banco de Portugal has received information from the competent authority in their home country on the activities which the credit institution or the payment institution intends to carry on in Portugal.
