European Central Bank
One of the objectives of the European System of Central Banks (ESCB), which comprises the European Central Bank (ECB) and the national central banks of the European Union Member States, is to contribute to the smooth conduct of policies pursued by the competent authorities relating to the prudential supervision of credit institutions, and thereby to the stability of the financial system.
The Financial Stability Committee (FSC), composed of high-level representatives from national central banks, is highlighted from amongst the ESCB committees which assist the work of the ECB’s decision-making bodies.
