Institutional cooperation

Information contained in the Central Balance-Sheet Database is obtained via institutional cooperation: quarterly data are taken from the quarterly survey to non-financial corporations, carried out in association with Statistics Portugal. Annual data are taken from the Informação Empresarial Simplificada (Simplified Corporate Information) which is the result of institutional cooperation among the Ministry of Finance and Public Administration, the Ministry of Justice, Statistics Portugal and Banco de Portugal.

The Central Balance-Sheet Database also cooperates with two international databases (BACH and European Sectoral References) to provide internationally comparable data.
