Communiqué of the Banco de Portugal on the changeover weekend

The Banco de Portugal has successfully completed the activities related to the preparation of its operational systems to the euro which were planned for this weekend.

During the weekend, Banco de Portugal has conducted a monitoring of the conversion activities developed by the main institutions of the Portuguese financial system and did not find any problems which could prevent the full operation of the system from January 4 1999 onwards.
