Reproduction rules

The reproduction of currency is deemed unlawful. However, total or partial reproduction of currency shall be deemed lawful, depending on its purpose – for teaching or other purposes – insofar as they cannot be mistaken for genuine currency.

Any reproduction of coins must be authorised beforehand by the Directorate General for the Treasury and Finance and/or the Imprensa Nacional - Casa da Moeda (Portuguese Mint).
