Cash offices

The operations listed below are made available to credit institutions by Banco de Portugal, at its counters in the Carregado Complex, Oporto Branch, Regional Delegations of the Azores (Ponta Delgada) and Madeira (Funchal) and District Agencies (Braga, Coimbra, Viseu, Castelo Branco, Évora and Faro):

• Deposits and withdrawals of euro banknotes – Instruction No 30/2009 and Circular Letter No 25/2010/DET
• Deposits and withdrawals of euro coins – Instruction No 31/2009

In order to carry out these operations, credit institutions use a dedicated software, GOLD - Gestão Integrada das Operações de Levantamentos e Depósitos (Integrated management of deposits and withdrawals), which makes it possible to prepare and transfer banknote and coin deposit and withdrawal operations trough BPnet to Banco de Portugal.
