Conference on Labour Market

The Banco de Portugal Labour Market Conference will be held in Praia D'El Rey, Óbidos, June 15-16, 2013. The Conference aims at bringing
together economists to discuss research on Program Evaluation, Minimum Wage, and Firms Financing and the Labour Market.

Attendance is by invitation only.

The Organizer Committee for the Conference is composed by Mário Centeno and Álvaro Novo.

The Conference venue is the Hotel Praia D'El Rey Marriott located at the north of Lisbon, on the western coast of Portugal.

The Conference will last for a day and a half, Saturday, June 15 and Sunday morning, June 16.

Attendance is by invitation only
.  To confirm your attendance to the Conference please send the registration form by email to conferences@bportugal.pt, no later than February 28.    

Participants should plan to arrive in Praia Del Rey on Friday afternoon and leave on Sunday afternoon/Monday morning.

Banco de Portugal has reserved accommodation at Hotel Praia D'El Rey Marriott. Upon receiving the registration form, we shall confirm the Hotel room booking.

Important dates

All meals will be provided by the organization. Breakfast and lunch will be served at the Hotel.
Special dietary requests can be accommodated if indicated in advance in the registration form.


The euro is the currency in circulation. Major credit cards are accepted at most of the establishments, including the Hotel. Banks are opened from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm, Monday to Friday.


The region’s weather is temperate and mild. In June the average daytime temperature is usually around the 24º C (75º F) and the nighttime temperature is around 15º C (59º F).

Getting to the conference

The journey from Lisbon airport to the Hotel should take approximately 50 minutes.
