International investment position statistics

Banco de Portugal compiles the international investment position (IIP) statistics. 

These statistics reflect end-of-period positions vis-à-vis abroad as regards assets and liabilities over a certain time period, obtained in accordance with the methodological principles laid down in the IFM’s Balance of Payments Manual. These statistics cover the following items: 

• Direct investment 
• Portfolio investment 
• Financial derivatives 
• Other investment 
• Reserve assets
